Snow Day.

We're having a snow day here.  Mr LC used to love them, now that he's getting paid by the day, he does not.   Anyway, to clear up any misconceptions about snow day I present to you:  Rick Mercer, the Maritimes' funniest guy explaining the miracle importance of snow days to Snow Day-Hating  Torontonians.  I trust this works as well to help explain the phenomenon to our friends from Warmer Climes.

I love this guy.

We have lived in
Minnesota for 11
years and I think
we have had ONE
snow day in all that
time....I would so
desperately like one
more for my eldest,
before she graduates
from HS next year : )
Thanks for stopping
by and enjoy that
snow day for US!

Your blog should be put on a stamp! It's funny. That was funny ... though I'm thinking I'd probably be one of those Torontonoanan parents who hate snow days. I public holidays here in Australia annoy me.

i live in IOWA(USA) and we have had snow days since the 'beginning of time'!!! back in '73 when i was student teaching we had a full week off!!! makes for a crappy start to summer getting those days made up though! we still have them, plus a LOT of 2-hr delays for snow and also FOG!! i'm so glad i'm retired now...wonderful to stay in 'jammies, drink java, turn on fireplace and KNIT!!!!

I think I only had about 5 snow days in my entire school time - but I can still remember the thrill of having a day off just like that!
